In the tiny silent Warm Springs, VA library.

Nov 24, 2007 10:32

It's cold. Frost still frosting windows at 10:30 a.m. We put on our boots and walked about 1/2 mile to the library. Within about 50 feet are the county courthouse (across from which lives the Commonwealth's attorney), sheriff, dept. of health, historical society, and a pretty cool mill-turned-restaurant/inn. The warm spring runs through our backyard and all through the town, but sadly it isn't warm enough in which to soak. That is why we are going to the Jefferson Baths or whatever it's called to soak, where Jefferson once did. Gross! Awesome! Should have booked a place in Hot Springs, a few miles away...

We're staying in a place called The Tannery. Brick, creaky, uneven floors, woodstove. Love it. I have a photo from my phone that I'll post later. (Forgot camera. Hopefully it will come out...)
