the birthday punch... literally

Jan 12, 2006 22:20

i'm 24... i feel old although carissa told me that i'm not allowed to feel old because she's almost 26 and i'm a baby

so my birthday was interesting...

the happy birthday song was sang to me numerous times today... my girls made it their mission to see how many times they could make my face turn bright red with embarrassment (i am not a huge fan of the birthday song)... but they were really sweet all day which was cute... we went out to dinner tonight and the surprised me again with a happy birthday and dessert... some of the girls in this dorm i truly enjoy... seriously...

i had numerous incidents in my classroom today, but none top the all out fight that broke out in the final 5 minutes of the day... i couldn't tell you how it really started because we were in the middle of cleaning up but i found myself restraining one boy who was swearing at the other who had just dove across the table and had ripped the kids' shirt... while i had one down the other decided to go after him and i ended up pinned in the middle of fist fight... yes, i got punched... on my freaking birthday... i ended up shoving one of the boys into the hall and the vice principle intervened and took him away while he began swearing at me... the other was taken off by my "favorite principle in the whole world" *note sarcasm... the other 4 boys in the class were like "holy shit he totally just hit you" and helped stack the chairs and went on their merry way...

man i was fired up and my arm freakin' hurt, but fortunately i had a break until 5 so i went to the beach and sat there for a few minutes...

that's not the only thing that happened, but i'm still pissed about the other thing and have two quizzes that i need to make up for tomorrow...

ps it's not really fun to get punched in the arm on your birthday, but at least i didn't get my face scratched or my shirt ripped (that would be the condition of the other two)

both boys did apologize to me later and have community service that i get to dictate... i LOVE doing community service!!
