...and it's only the second week.
This weekend: spent in Tampa. And a very stressful weekend, for reasons I'm not going into here.
End result: did not look at the course website until about half an hour ago. (~8pm)
And I find this in my class!mail inbox:

So I emailed him right back, citing family issues (very true!) and asking if I can still take the quiz but with a late grade.
I think the email in of itself is a good sign. (The phraseology especially.) With luck, I'll still get to take the quiz. *crosses fingers!*
