it seems there is no better time to update than 4 in the morning when i have an 8 am class and am completely, utterly awake for G-d knows what reason.
so things have been going well. that's pretty much how it is. this weekend i paid the ungodly amount of $10.25 to see the Bridget Jones sequel. well i think it was well worth it and thought it was great and funny and i heart colin firth so that made it all the more brilliant. and then i find out that the critics completely panned it. but whatever, fuck them, i still lurve it. so go see it. and we did get to see previews for "meet the fockers" and "monster-in-law." this was way exciting seeing as "meet the parents" is one of my favorite movies EVER and the sequel shall be one of the most exciting movies ever for me. and it has babs. what more could you ask for? and "monster-in-law" equals michael vartan. who cares about j-lo. gimme some of that vartany-hottiness thankyouverymuch.
someone told me i am possibly one of the most contradictory people she has ever met and she can never quite figure me out. i take this as a compliment. she said it is because on one hand i love stupid adam sandler-chris farley-snl-office space-best in show humor but then on the other hand i go gaga for movies like "love actually" and "13 going on 30." so while one seems to contradict the other, for me, they don't. and it is true when you think of it. one who laughs at adam sandler jokes and is incredibly sarcastic and cynical doesn't normally get all sappy at romantic comedies but what can i say. i guess i am just a contradiction in myself. and i'm kind of proud of that. it makes me different. and unique.
aaargh. i frequent this fashion message board and it annoys me when people are like "omg should i buy (enter item here) because i heard that it's no longer "in"!!!" that's so obnoxious. just buy what you like. who gives a fuck if it's "in" or not. isn't that what style is all about? wearing what you like etc? because if we only wore what was "in" all the time wouldn't everyone look the same? and that would be rather boring. (there's a good possibility people might be thinking i'm being hypocritical right now? i don't know.) "in" stuff is great when you like the trend but there's no rule saying you can't continue to like it once the trend is "over." who cares. i mean seriously. like the trend, don't like it, follow it, don't follow it. just do what you like. i'm not gonna not wear legwarmers because it isn't 1982. but of course the difficulty comes when everyone likes to think they do their own thing and don't follow trends. i can't lie - of course i do follow trend - because when there is fun stuff that becomes trendy that i think is cute i'm gonna get it. but i also won't buy stuff simply because it's trendy (cough cough trucker hats cough). that just gets scary. and it's funny because by following the trends hardcore or whatever doesn't that get awfully tiring trying to keep up with what is "in" and "out?"
what the hell am i talking about. sorry. people are probably rolling their eyes thinking i'm being pretentious or hypocritical or something along those lines. it's just way too late/early.
