I am proud of myself. I have spent the last two nights (inclusive of tonight) in the library working. That would not be so impressive, but Spring Break ended yesterday and I normally need a few days to get back into the swing of things.
I have been reading the most boring shit for both French and Macroeconomics. Servants and Masters is killing me, with the four page Résumé that I have due (that she has not explained) and another seven page paper. In class, there was a prospective student visiting and it must have been the worst experience. Our French teacher kept telling us to let her know what we have learned this semester and all we could come up with was "fictional and historical representation of servants and masters and the causes leading up to the French Revolution". Same old, same old. After French I had psychology. We got back our quantitative assignments where I got a 19.75 out of 20 and just about wanted to kill someone. But, there was this one hilarious moment where she wanted us to close our eyes, listen to the music file that she played and then tell her what we imagined. It was a clip of "Jaws" played on an organ/piano and a lot of the people in the room felt anxious like they were being chased by a predator. However, I kept on envisioning this man banging away on a piano and it was quite hilarious. Apparently that is part of conditioning and learning psychology, which we will be covering on Wednesday. Fun fact of the day: there are 60 pain receptors in your thumb compared with 188 in the back of your hand.
On another note, there are fireworks going off right now in Noyes Circle. It is somewhat odd, but surprisingly cool.
I am going to end on a note of advice. If you play "Europa Universalis", never ever accept French provinces in Canada from the French in their peace proposal. If you have gone through great lengths to conquer all of France, inclusive of Île de France, then you have come too far to walk away with 500 ducats and Acadie. If you do not understand the reasons for not accepting, just watch "La Veuve de Saint Pierre" with Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil. You'll get the picture.
One final thing. I am a little disappointed that I could not get a picture of Jessica Fletcher for livejournal. We all appreciate her incredible crime-solving abilities on "Murder She Wrote" and who could forget her research on the famous Revolutionary battle of Cabot Cove? I had no idea there were so many Southern people in Maine. It's amazing what you learn on television.
