I need help!...with sound mixing.
Okay, the fact that I didn't even know how to title this post shows how inadequate I am in this field. I figured someone on my flist has to know something about mixing/ cutting music for all the beautiful fan vids I've seen.
For school, I need to make a power point presentation but I'm running into trouble with the song. It's actually for a sort of holiday talent show and I need the song to be shorter. I just need to cut a section out and its conveniently placed between pauses so it won't sound weird without the one part. Only problem is that I have no idea how to do this.
My friend has a sound mixer but has never done anything like this before. I am very ignorant when it comes to this kind of stuff so I don't even know what type of mixer he has. All I know he can make songs by putting together lots of different instrument recordings. I'm guessing (and hoping) the mixer would also be able to do what I need.
If anyone knows how to do this and could send me any type of directions or a good place to look I would really, really appreciate it!
I'm just planning on going over to my friend's house on Friday afternoon to try and figure it out so anything before then would be awesome!
In other news I went to New York City for an art field trip yesterday and it was so much fun. I rode the subway for the first time! Went to the Gugenheim, Andrew Wyeth collection, and bought a hat and a necklace. Fun was had by all. :)
Now I'm off to do some homework to catch up on all I missed.
