The first post of the year -- how lame that it has taken me this long to write anything. It's been a whirlwind of a month so far, so I'm breaking things down into a summarized list, in the hopes of later expanding on these events:
1. Celebrated New Year's with bh and mother
2. Am teaching 3/4 time for my teaching assistantship -- EAP Reading and ten hours in the language lab
3. Six credits left on my Master's degree -- Language in Socialization and Structures of English
4. Finalized travel plans for this April's 2007 TESOL conference in New York City
5. Received a $500 fellowship from my program to attend the above conference
6a. rc, a co-worker of mine mysteriously died three weeks ago (possible murder -- still trying to process it all)
6b. Attended a memorial service in which the deceased was younger than me
7. Celebrated bh's birthday in style with pe and Sissy
8. Watched two fascinating movies -- Atonement and Juno
9. Completed reading two books -- Chuck Klosterman (2004) Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs; Chuck Palahniuk (1999) Invisible Monsters
10. Am currently applying for ESL instructor and applied linguistics jobs...UGHHHHHHH
11. Have started a regular exercise regimen
12. Celebrated j.e.k's birthday
Items 6a and 6b deserve a much needed post; hopefully it will prove cathartic to some extent.
