Ich bin eine Masochistin

It's here. That chest-crushing, oh-my-God-what-have-I-gotten-myself-into late night Sunday feeling that visits me every time the work and school week are about to begin. In theory, I could be sleeping right now, but I'm not. Yesterday, I took too much time to have fun (slept in late, watched a movie, went to the Folk Festival, played two board games, drank a Rogue mocha porter), and now I'm paying the consequences. In my defense, I would be in a better spot had I not agreed to take care of a friend's cat while she's at a training session in D.C. Had I not agreed, I would not have been with her in her car when her muffler became dislodged from her car. So there we were, on our backs on the side of a road in the Old Town section of Lansing, tying the muffler with bits of rope to the undercarriage of the car. Once the car was "fixed," I had another problem on my hands: how to get back to East Lansing since my friend didn't want to drive her car any more than she had to. 90 minutes later, I found myself back home and still faced with a paper that I need to hand in for class tomorrow. I'm not impressed at all. However, at least I got all of my grading done for the three-week courses. And my lessons are planned for tomorrow (with the exception of an icebreaker). At least I can just focus on my paper tonight...

Oh yeah, and my back is really sunburned at the moment. I thought that it would be a good idea to grade papers outside today while wearing my new indoor pool swimsuit. At least it is only my right side that looks like the back of a lobster...
