A post-karaoke conversation
spiritualmonkey and I went to karaoke at Annie's Social Club last night - since the monkey will be working New Year's Eve, this was the last chance for him to sing at their Punk Rock & Schlock Karaoke night.
As we were riding home, I said, "You know that gal in the red dress, the one who sang 'Big Balls'? The whole time she was singing*, I kept thinking Do I know you from somewhere, or do you just look like several of my friends?"
"I know," said spiritualmonkey. "But you spend as much time around Burning Man as we did, eventually you get to the point where everybody you meet, you wonder Have I seen this person half-naked and covered in playa dust?"
"Actually," I said, "I was thinking more along the lines of Don't I recognize you from your userpic?"
*Dang, but I wish somebody had gotten her performance on video. She was fantastic.
