My husband will be gone for 8 months.

It is official.
My husband received the letter of offer from NavMar yesterday and things are in motion as follows:

He has been requested to fly out to San Diego tomorrow or Friday for Orientation and Security Clearance stuff. He will only be there a day or so. The rest of the weekend will be spent with his daughters.

Next week, we are going to have to move his stuff back home from San Antonio. This isn't a big deal, except there is a Queen size bed involved. If anyone has a truck we can borrow/rent, please let me know as soon as possible. If we have to, we will rent one from U-Haul.

He will be reporting to Yuma, AZ on September 13 and will train there for 2 months.

Deployment to the Philippines is expected to begin in either November or December and will last no less than 180 days.

I am hoping to throw him a going away party. It might be easier if it is held in Dallas as opposed to trying to get everyone to drive over to Fort Worth.

It is all still a bit surreal at the moment... but each time I told someone at NLA last night, it got more and more "real" and I can feel the emotion beginning to build up.  I am doing all I can to remain happy and excited for him as this is a dream job for him and I don't want anything to ruin this opportunity for him.

With that said, I will most likely be calling on my friends for support and comfort while he is away.
