I cried through the whole scene. And I fucking listened “Never grow up” before I moved to the scene! It made me more unstable!
She landed on her hands and knees and crawled quickly around the bed like a small insect afraid of being trampled on by an oblivious foot. She settled next to Dahlia, slightly bloody and damp, and waited for her to curl up next to her as she always did. Instead, Dahlia closed her eyes tighter and ignored her. Here I was completely upset. What an image! Amazing and vivid and hurtful! And then Cara wants little hurt Dahlia to feel better. Oh, boy! I’ve got more teary eyes.
Thank you for that scene! It was hard to read but there were so much love and nobility in Cara it overwhelmed me!!!
oops sorry about Kahlan but Cara has mad needs!! I definitely see Cara being quick to resort to any sort of physical pleasure seeking in attempts to escape her memories, feelings, faults, etc idk!
OH WOW, I know, wtf how awful was Snake?! I could see her so clearly and she was fucking evil to the core, I swear. I had to restrain her like crazy, she wanted to do so much more. I was only able to really go there after you told me all about Denna and her master cuz WOW. It was definitely the most emotional part for me too... "Never Grow Up" is such a powerful and rich song with such a simple message but to me, this is ALL I thought of!! Like nothing else but this! I thought of lengths that Cara would need to go to in order to "protect" Dahlia from her "weaknesses" as she said and all the sacrifices she would've had to make to keep her alive. Above all, Dahlia was just so incredibly loved and I hope that shows...

Above all, Dahlia was just so incredibly loved and I hope that shows... Dahlia was so lucky (if you can call lucky a girl taken to M'S) that she had Cara and she was loved unconditionally every minute of her life! Cara sacrificed her soul for Dahlia. It has to count for something!
like sometimes the richest experiences have come out of the most painful times...those that were the hardest to believe would ever turn into any positive IMHO Trufax! Fluff comes easy and leaves easy too! And if you never suffered you never can be truly happy. Although too much pain and suffering can bring a person to a break point and beyond for repair and then it's not a life experience but just a damage. I feel relieved that Cara didn't reach that point yet (THANK YOU!) and she can come back.
The whole scene was amazing! I mean, I hated Snake with no boundaries but I'm talking the girls! Dahlia was so small and catatonic I wanted to hug her and protect her from the evil! Caraaaa!!!*bawls*
I don't wanna sound like a weirdo but if I had to choose a favorite scene from this fic, I think that's it ;) I think it's cuz I really understood them there and where they came from and it was fucking heartbreaking and strong I think that it is one of your best scenes!!! I'm telling you as one weirdo to another, lol! The best scene yet!
You are goooood at heartbreaking scenes! What especially touched me in this scene is a simplicity like "it's everyday task" of Cara's sacrifice! We've got a couple of scenes but she was protecting Dahlia for some 15 years 6 or 7 of them in unimaginably cruel circumstances!
