Chapter Five
Spike wanted to
move but found he couldn't. It felt like he was paralyzed. Spike
forced himself to move and the next thing he knew Buffy was in his
arms. He put his head in Buffy's smeet smelling hair. It has been so
long since held Buffy in his arms. He never wanted to let go ever. But
knew he had to eventually.
He raised his head and glazed at Buffy. "Pet, I am so happy to see you,
I missed you so much. Buffy put her hands on both Spike's cheeks, " I
miss you too Spike," and then she kissed Spike fully on the mouth.
Spike was shocked for a second, before returning the kiss full force.
Buffy pulled back " I love you so much Spike, " she said breathlessly.
Spike was going to respond back, But Buffy put her fingers to his lips
to silence him. "No I really do love you. When I said to you before,
you said you didn't believe me, but thanks for saying it." "I wasn't
just saying to be saying it Spike, Buffy said with conviction. " I been
in in love with you for a long time now. But I made myself believe that
I was just using you to feel again and that is was just sex, not love."
Spike was speechless. He could not believe that this was happening. The
women, who he felt was in love with, confessing to him that she is in
love with him for the longest now. "You really love me? " he asked. Not
quite sure he was hearing right.
"Yes Spike, I do. That's why I am here, to ask you to come back with me to Rome." replied Buffy.
Spike still speechless, automatically said, " What about Giles, Willow,
Xander and your group of slayerettes? Are they going to go along with
that idea?"
Buffy looked at Spike for a moment. "Spike, I know that we haven't
really giving you that much a chance in Sunnydale. But things have
change since then. You saved the world twice. You are a champion and I
love you for that. Spike, nothing is left for you here. Angel doesn't
want you here, so it shouldn't really matter anyway." Buffy said, so
sure of herself.
Spike thought things over for himself. 'Buffy does have a point. Angel
doesn't really want me here at all. I am a waste of space. I should
return with Buffy and Bit back to Rome.' But a small voice in his head
argued back, 'You are wrong. Angel does want you here. You are not a
waste of space. Spike mentally shook himself out of his thoughts when
he noticed that Buffy was saying something to him.
"What did you say luv?"
"Are you coming back to Rome with us ? Buffy asked.
Spike stood there for a moment thinking things though. 'Here is my
chance, should I stay here with Angel and try to work things out with
him? Or should I go back to Rome with Buffy ?'
First time in his unlife, Spike couldn't decide.
Chapter six
Angel and Fred arrived back to Wolfham&Hart. Angel was nervous to
go inside. Fred noticed Angel's nervousness, she reached over and
patted her hand.
"Everything will be alright Angel. No one will look at you differently." Fred reassured.
Angel smiled back and got in the elevator. When they got to Fred's lab,
Fred went into research mode. She poked and prodded at Angel. Making
Angel uncomfortable. Finally when Fred was done with the testing. Angel
couldn't wait anymore and asked, "Can you change me back Fred?"
"Angel, I am not going to lie to you. It will be very difficult to change you back."
"W HAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T CHANGE ME BACK.", screamed Angel.
"Calm down. I didn't say couldn't change you back. I said it would be
difficult. Whoever cast a spell on you, knew what they were doing. Can
you remember more of last night?" Fred asked concerned.
Angel paced back and forth, her long hair going back and forth, as she
shook her head. "No! The only thing I could remember is drinking a
couple drinks with this guy named Mickey. Then this morning I find
myself in my bed. I can't remember driving home last night." Angel
trembled.
"Oh dear, We need to find this Mickey. Do you know his last name Angel?"
"I only know his first name. Why didn't I asked for his last name? I
was so upset about my argument with Spike. That I lost track." Angel
started crying.
"Don't cry Angel. We will resolve this." Fred said determinely.
" I need to go to my office, to sign a couple of paperwork, that I promise Gunn I do when I get in."
"Are you sure you want people to see you like this? asked Fred
"I can't keep on hiding Fred. Sooner or later, people will find out I am a female."
A few minutes later
Angel was in her office, sorting though the piles on the desk.
When Spike and Buffy barged into the office. " Who are you and where is
Angel?" demanded Buffy.
Angel smirked and thought to herself, 'This is going to be fun.'
"Buffy, I am Angel."
"No you're not." scoffed Buffy. "You're an imposter or demon or something - Buffy stopped when Angel bursted out laughing.
"What the hell are you laughing at?"
"You". smirked Angel.
Buffy raised an eyebrow, "Why", confused.
"I can't believe I used to be in love with you, Buffy. You claimed you
knew me so well. I am surprised you didn't look into my eyes and knew
right away who I was."
Buffy could feel her face getting red. She turned back to Spike, who
was silent the entire time. "Do you believe this garbage?" she asked.
Spike nodded his head, his eyes on Angel the entire time. " Yea, pet I
do. Knew it when I stepped into this office. The bond told me that much.
'Damn, poof looks bloody good. Looks like one of those Victoria Secret
models. Could still be one. Spike thought, letting his eyes wandering
down Angel's new body.
Angel moved uneasily under Spike's gaze. 'Why is Spike staring at me? I
should have listened to Fred and stayed out of sight. Until my
predictment was resolved. But no I decided to come up here instead.
Buffy broke the uneasy silence, "Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on?' Buffy asked.
"Who's the new babe, Spike?! asked Andrew coming into Angel's office with Dawn.
Spike groaned and shook his head, 'this is going to be a long night.'
