Lex no longer evil?

I've been pretty absent from fandom of any kind lately, and I feel better for it, I can tell you.  However, the other day I did a little surfing across a bunch of communities and journals, and somewhere or other, I came across the statement that DC is going to be making changes to the comics Lex Luthor, so that he will no longer be Superman's enemy, or even that much of a bad guy.

Does anyone know any details about these plans, or if they're even true?  I'm still a big Lex Luthor fan, of course, and I must confess I'm thrilled if they are real plans, though I'm still pissed off at SV.

Some questions I have:

Are we to assume that Lex in the SV universe is truly no longer 'evil' or Clark's enemy, so that he will fit in with the new comics Lex?  Are we to assume that the mindwipe is responsible for his miraculous 'rehabilitation'?  If Clark had truly been a hero, and a good friend to Lex, even if he hadn't been able to 'save him', would Lex have any reason to hate him or turn evil merely because he remembered who the hell Clark was?  As it is, they had Clark treating Lex like a cross between an ATM and a punching bag for years, but then never gave us any payoff, or even a half-ways decent explanation for Clark's behaviour.  I know they made me hate Clark like poison -- and for what?

Any details, opinions, or rants appreciated and commented on.
