TM 193

Lex had no eyes for the beauty of the scene before him. Babbling brooks and soft moss covered trees had never held much interest for him outside of decorating a hunting themed room.

"Just what was it exactly that you wanted me to see here?" Hiking for a half an hour in shoes that were not made for terrain outside of a board room had not done much for his sense of patience. He had been led to believe whatever was out here was important and at the moment all he could see was an annoyingly rustic picnic spot.

"Look in the stream Mr. Luthor." The scientist, Marks or Meeks...something he never could remember very well...was treading on thin ground right now.

"This had better be good." Stepping carefully onto the slick rocks Lex peered into the stream. "What exactly am I look..." Lex's shoes slipped on the moss and suddenly he found himself sliding into the creek waters. Somehow he managed to keep from falling in completely but one leg was wet up past his knee and the other shoe was squelching as well.

Lex curled his fist around a rock with the half formed thought of throwing it at Marks or Meeks' head but something about it caught his eye.

Green. Glints of green were peeking out from the rock in his hand.

"Mr. Luthor! Are you okay?"

"Is the whole stream like this?" He held up the rock. "Is it all meteor rock?"

"Y-yes, that's why I brought you here Mr. Luthor."

"Luckily for you. Now I don't have to fire you." Lex ignored the gulp of dismay from Marks or Meeks and climbed the rest of the way out of the water. "Get a crew out here I want this all brought in to the lab."

The area wasn't on his property but if he did it right he'd have the rocks before anyone even knew he was here.

Lex held the rock up to the sun and watched the gleam of green and smiled.
