Metropolis; the city of tomorrow and industrial hub of intense complexity. Oftentimes this extreme power goes beyond the comprehension of some of the world’s greatest minds and technological philosophers. The nation is often both perplexed and intrigued by the products that manufacture there and with good reason. Recent research in several

“They don’t actually make themselves overly noticeable, but it’s not because of fear of discrimination. In fact,” he motioned outward toward the city for emphasis, “Central City has a meta-human by the name of The Flash and they absolutely adore him-for reasons I myself am not certain of. But, he does have a museum honoring his acts of heroism and good deeds. You’ll find that the coast and southern states are a bit more lenient when it comes to a difference in genes.”
He took a moment to examine himself and with a wry grin, Lex nodded. “I had Mercy bring me over something to change in to, so I’ll only be a few moments. I apologize for being so unprepared. I got side-tracked by something Alexander-erm, I was researching. I think you’ll find something I found a bit interesting and I’ll tell you about it when we reach the dinner stage of our little excursion. Angel,” he paused, turned, and collected her hands. “Thank you for coming, and more importantly, believing in me.”

Blushing a little, she smiled up at him and gave his hands a squeeze. "You don't have to explain. I know you're a busy guy. I'm beyond flattered that you even invited me out here. I can't wait to here your news though. You look so excited."
"You don't have to thank me, Lex. You're my friend. At least a friend. Maybe... Well, I don't want to assume anything but I care about you. In a very short amount of time, you've grown to mean a lot to me. That's actually not as easy as you might think. I'm friendly enough but it's hard for me to trust people. I'm not going to quit on you now."

In this very moment, he could feel a change in the air. The nervousness he once felt for his obvious delay in getting here much less how he currently looked started to slip away. Time became trivial. This moment was what mattered. Her words poured like a reassuring river of hope and it was in this faith from others that Lex strived to do better for himself. Misguidance wasn’t an issue at this point.
He pulled back, letting their fingers disentwine and fall beside them. “Feel free to wander, you know. You’re not locked away up here alone. I’ll try not to take too terribly long.”
With a look an eager look Lex pardoned himself from her company, slipping into the long, vast corridors of the massive hotel. One would think he’d take eternity simply due to the size of the place, but in all actuality, he knew the crooks and crevices of the Alexandria. He was here quite often as a child. So meeting up with a room suitable for his showering and changing would only be but a mere half hour before he’d stake his return.

Twice she almost called him to ask while she waited then decided to see if she could wrangle it out of the concierge downstairs. He said she could wander.

He knocked quietly on her door, adjusted his tie and stood readily awaiting. When she would answer, Lex would be seen in a casual formal light. A simple black suit from slacks to blazer and a smooth lavender chemise with a deeper black tie and lightly musked with mild fragrance-he was set. Lex held out to her a single yellow rose, the stem glossy and shaped with protruding leaves and a vibrant blossom.
“Are you ready then, Angel?” he inquired seeing that obviously she had been considering her stunning appearance.

The redhead let him lead the way as she got a bit girlie over her flower. "So where are we going? You know, you have the most loyal staff I've ever seen. I couldn't get anything out of anyone. It was a little frustrating actually. I hope I dressed okay."

“We’ll start with dinner and go from there.” His eyes played over her once more before he offered his arm. “They’re just doing their job, you know.” A well placed laugh.
He led her through the gaping corridors passing the final drafts of some of the more notarized artists from various necks of the world. The elevator chimed, they boarded and ascended. Once they reached their destination, it was quite, moderately dark save for the twinkling of lights in the distance of a blackened sky and neighboring buildings.
A waiter dressed in the common black and white attire with the draping towel over his right arm awaited them. Their seating arrangement was just that; an arrangement prepared entirely for them with thin delicate roses speckling the area with a douse of color from the rich purples that made up the Alexandria.
They were seated and the dinner session began. From out of no where a soft melody played on a violin. It and its player were accompanied by a few others with a somber golden light that showered them in their corner some several feet away from the diners.
“I have made a few suggestions to the kitchen,” he began settling into his seat. “But if you have any preferences feel free.”
Starting off, Lex called for a fine wine-one of his father’s choices, surprisingly. Cabernet Sauvignon, 1932.

"Oh my gosh" She whispered as her green eyes got huge. "Oh Lex..." The view was spectacular and it was possibly the most romantic setting she'd ever seen. Her gaze darted around unsure where to focus first. The decorations were incredible, the view took her breath away, but the music drew her attention to the violinist. It was a familiar tune that he played beautifully. Angel smiled and the man smiled back before Angel turned back to Lex hugging his arm.
"Everything is perfect. Thank you."
