back from nowhere

After my longest LJ hiatus yet, I figured it's time to write another entry.

So Ateneo won and I went to the bonfire. It was crowded and muddy, just as how I remembered it from 5 years ago, but at I think I enjoyed this one more. While I would want another bonfire next year (and probably one that's not muddy), I think it's also better that events like these don't happen every year. And yes, with the win I admit going through another "I miss Ateneo" phase for several days and I also finally ended up getting an alumni card.

Towards the end of September we moved up to the 32nd floor. I like my place because it's more isolated and peaceful during the day, but it gets creepy during those overtime nights. Oh and I finally have an electric fan to use whenever they turn off the aircon.

My classes ended the first week of October. We had a mini birthday party for our sensei and for our last day we ate at this not-so-cheap restaurant in UP Bahay ng Alumni. I think the name of the place is "Chocolate Kiss" but I'm not too sure. Anyway I haven't been able to pick up my certificate yet because I've been busy with work.

Our team leader is resigning. He announced this when he returned from his 2-week mandatory leave. I really have mixed feelings about this. Before he left, we were always arguing because he always he had this "I don't care, I want to resign" attitude and he was becoming more and more uncooperative and impatient. Well now that he's leaving he won't be replaced because we have this freeze hire. There's only 3 of us in our team and with him leaving, there's more work for me and my other teammate. Oh and the higher ups have also announced that they're planning to give additional tasks for our team. I don't know if this is a consolation or what, but now that he has only 2 weeks left, he's actually become more patient and accommodating. Hahaha.

That's not my only office drama. There was also this other one a couple of weeks ago. It involved me, my team leader and my former teammate versus this conceited boss. Well, it wasn't such a big issue and we are able to resolve things in a very civil manner. But still, I was annoyed that we had to defend ourselves from her narrow-minded accusations.

Last month I also had my birthday and I took a few days off. I finally had the time to watch anime again and it's really sad that somehow I can't get myself to watch anime. Ugh. I struggled with my Code Geass R2 marathon and I also haven't gone past half of Macross Frontier. Hmm. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'll try again with Gintama and Soul Eater later this month.

Meanwhile I'm more into American TV. I'm finally up-to-date with Smallville, which actually got better after Lana left. I've started watching Brothers & Sisters and I'm also following the current seasons of Heroes, Gossip Girl and The Office. I was surprised that I liked B&S and kudos to Guggenheim because this show has heart. Hahaha. Heroes is getting better although I don't know how the recent production staff change will affect the show. GG has become quite boring and The Office = fun. I'm just sad though that Holly isn't a regular, because it means they'll have to let her go sometime soon (or did that already happen?).

On to reality shows, I think TARA3 is less fun to watch compared to TARA2, but the challenges are more difficult this time around. Plus I think Team Phils also has a strong chance of winning this one. Meanwhile Survivor: Gabon is same old survivor fun. I was just disappointed by the double elimination last week because 2 of my favorites got voted off. Oh well, go Sugar? I'll update again later this week.
