I stayed home from school today, which is highly atypical for me. I've been feeling really sick over the weekend, and it got particularly bad last night. It's bad timing though, as there is a Biology test today, and a paper due in ethics, and both an SGA and PTK meeting, so I don't know how I'm going to catch up on all that. I did the coastal clean ( Read more... )

Hehe, well thanks for posting, Dani! Of course, if you noticed, I've actually been posting quite frequently the last few days (well, frequently for me, anyways). You might have been able to tell because of the sudden occurrences of airborne swine. The reference is from the latter part of Phantom of the Opera where the leading lady's (Christine) fiancee (Raoul) and a detective of sorts (member of the secret police, I think) are heading into the hidden sections of the Paris Opera House to search for the Phantom. He had been killing those who got close to him by strangling them with rope (or cord, whatever), so the secret police guy told the fiancee to keep his hand by his head, for "the rope of the strangler is quick". Basically if someone tried to choke one of them with a rope their hand would be under the rope as well, which they could use to either free themselves or to at least prevent themselves from being asphyxiated by the rope. It was supposed to be humorous though, of course, as for about 10 minutes we watch the two main heroes wandering about the dark torture chambers under the Opera House with one hand raised next to their head. At one point the fiancee dropped his hand and the other man noticed, chastising him as he excitedly points out the lapse in judgment "Raise your hand! It is a matter of life and death!"

Ah, but I didn't quite give you a full answer. Yes, being sick is not very enjoyable. Went to the doctor today (hour and 45 minute wait, and the billing lady was being a real bitch...), and also got a Rubik's cube. That sounded pretty random, I know. I've been studying them as of late and wanted to try one out myself. It hasn't gone well. I'll just blame it on being sick, but I think we both know better. My best use of it will probably be as a bludgeoning weapon against my own skull out of frustration. My Biology book wasn't much safer though, so what can you do? Oh, yes and to answer your question, your "boringly long journal entries" are nothing compared to my boringly long, self-indulging, holier-than-thou, vocabulary flaunting essays and opinion papers. It all becomes relative, you see.
Thanks again for posting, it's always nice to hear from my friends.
...Jesse
