Once I had transferred the designs onto fabric, I knew that I had a lot of painting ahead of me.  I thought that I would try to do something a little interesting with my camera. Truth be told, I had been inspired of by Lillyxandra’s time lapse makeup video a while back and had been trying to think of an application for my cosplay ever since.

I set up my camera on a tripod, which is a must. Using the software that came with my camera (Canon 1100D) I set my camera to take photos every 30 seconds. For the first day I had it set completely on manual, which caused a massive changes in brightness over the day. With a little advice from nert, I changed it to Aperture priority the next day, with auto Shutter speed and White balance. Thankfully it worked a little better!

The design is painted with acrylic paints. I used a iridescent medium mixed with white to paint sections that looked transparent on the design, dabbing off the excess with tissue.

The video was put together with windows movie maker at 15 frames per second. Its about 16 hours of painting condensed into a minute and a half. Its my first attempt at this sort of thing, so I’m pretty pleased! Hope you enjoy.
