An important part of every costume is the footwear. Unluckily for me there weren’t many clear images of D’s Boots. I ended up picking the three best ones and mashed them together to create this design. The spurs were a touch I added in myself, as D travels on horseback.

After aquiring a pair of boots from Deichmann. They happened to be in brown, so I turned them black by painting them with a mixture of acrylic paint and PVA glue. I’ve done this twice to shoes now for cosplay and its seems to work really well.

I altered the cuff and bound it will corduroy velvet. Most of the details on the boots were hot glued on one they had  been created. This included covered piping cord, decorative wool, Russian braid and old pieces of broken jewelery.  The grey sleeve was made out of leatherette, with plastic boning glued onto the inside for support. To finish the boots off, I designed a pair of spur holders to fasten the spurs onto the boots (They also needed a little help from hot glue…)

Let me know what you think!
