One of the reasons I love babysitting [especially in manhasset] is because I just get a lot of money to order kids around, and then sit and watch tv. All of which i normally do for free at my house.
It was funny because I had to end up babysitting for two families, because one woman's sitter canceled but the two moms were hanging out so it was fine. And the woman I babysit for on occasion told me that there were a bunch of women going out, i think like 7 or so because their husbands decided to take a 5-day golfing trip in Ireland. She then proceeded to tell me that it was therefore the wives responsibility to go into the city and spend their money and swipe their credit cards. Sometimes I feel that the fabulous, couture clothing, overly comfortable homes, and shiny appliances that the average Manhasset suburban mom acquires in her lifetime are worth the probably-failing & loveless marriage. They probably have affairs, so whatever.
Anyway, I also had two thoughts tonight which I felt like I should post in Livejournal.
One. - I have an odd obsession with appliances. One of the major reasons I want to own a home or apartment is to stock it with top-of-the-line appliances. I'm especially obsessed with fancy washers and dryers. A sleek design, high-economic efficiency, and enough settings that you'll never need to send anything to the dry cleaners makes me secretly gasp. Figures.
Also, I thought of a potential opening for my junior recital as I watched the Nanny at 2am on Lifetime earlier this morning. I thought, "why not change the lyrics to the Nanny theme, have a friend sing it and I'll dress up and walk down the aisles, and everyone will cheer and love me. Maybe in fierce red heels?"
Fin.
