Gears & oPinions
In a system that uses gear trains(sets of at least two gears) there are gears that drive(pinions) and gears that take on the action(gears).
Gears are used to transfer Torque/moments/rotational motion between one shaft to another.
More often than not, the name of the gear's game is reduction. Speed reduction.
For a while now, I've been feeling burnt out in my course. The E's and the S's in Engineering Science(ES) dosent seem to hold up, and thats what frustrates me. I like Science since it gives you a reason why what it says might be true(hey, no one says you have to believe everything rational) and Engineering since it is, at its core, applied science. ES 21(Mathematical techniques in engineering) and ES 11 (Vector Mechanics: Statics), the former whose exam I most likely failed due to unpreparedness and the latter who's upcoming exam's topic I still have little to no grasp upon.
Well, the blame rests squarely on my shoulders. The 'pinion' of my 'gear train' come from me and not where it should come from, God. However much the torque of the system is stepped up, it will always reach those points where it simply isn't enough. There's still those times where we see our Lord, God and Saviour and focus on the Saviour part. However many times I've surrendered and recommitted my life to Him, I am always lacking but He will never be.
A new year, what else is new? Not that I discount the value of the change of dates, but isn't it better to greet the new day with such enthusiasm and hope as we do the new year? Change must take time to come to fruition, but one does not need to wait for the new year to chalk it up in their resolutions.
Past, Present, and Future; Whatever baggage we have can just be put at the feet of our Lord. Lessons are one thing, but past worries act like anchors that keep us from going on with where we should be. It was said that Problems that keep re-appearing is just God presenting us a lesson we do not want to learn.
Live, Learn, Live on for the Lord.
