Seen Avengers
It was funny, and not even aspiring to do much else.
Loads of explosions and fighting and such, but little else. I am ignorant like a goat about Avengers actual canon so I didn’t noticed if they left out important elements and fucked up others and I was spared that kind of rant.
Funny thing about this movie, I liked more the characters I’m less familiar with, like Hulk, Hawkeye and the Shield as a whole; I liked how the relationship between Natasha and Clint was never brought into a sentimental field and how both of them and Nick Fury were total badass in combats even in comparison with stuff obviously more spectacular like Iron-fucking-Man’s armour. Otherwise I didn’t like the role they gave to Loki, what looks like a pretty obvious whitewashing of Maria Hill (though I can be wrong, I’ve always though she’s latina but I lack a source), and I am utterly enraged by the two minutes of Pepper we got to see - let me get this straight: a woman got laid and that changes her stance, attitude, fashion sense, personality we may say? good job on the female characters side, Whedon -.- - of course I am also enraged that Loki spends half of the movie in what actually is Pepper’s house and they didn’t get to met, but that’s just me being pathetic beyond help. Cap was pretty nonexistant but I can’t say I wasn’t expecting this, and that’s not just a matter of acting skills; the director didn’t invested in him that much, must be said.
As for the rest, the last third was well paced and entertaining while the start is a bit slow with a lot of unnecessary punching and fighting and … well, that’s probably me not being an enthusiast of the genre itself. Overall, pretty enjoyable without aspiring to be that great. Funniest thing was watching it with enthusiast kids of primary school age: this little guys shouting out ‘that’s Captain America!’ first time we saw Steve on screen was cute indeed
