Everytime I see an Anon Meme, I am actually tempted to join in, hoping that someone'd curse me for being at least stubborn, if not annoying, because it's how my narcissism works later ( Read more... )

You know, it's never wrong to try anything once before deciding completely for or against it. >.>

(Leaving aside the fact that I should take this advice myself. Yes. Ignore that. xDD)

I apply this criteria of selection to the majority of things I came across in my life, from food to music to...anything, almost.
But yeah, this doesn't really seems worth trying, it's not that I'm such a BNF or anything remotely near to that, I don't think I'd get anything lol-worthy from it, just some non-anonymous glomp from my friends that, even though it's always welcome and lovely, doesn't really require an anonymous meme to take place... so yeah. It's pretty useless in the end^^;

I tried one once and it came out a bit oddly since the problem with this sort of thing tends to be that it rarely gives you the sort of constructive feedback that you want. Everyone is free to say whatever they please and unless you find a lucky match up where they’re critiquing the very aspect that you want some feedback on you instead end up with a list of issues that you either don’t care about, are deliberate decisions on your part so you’re not about to change them or throw more light on the commenter’s motivations than yours. Even if the commenter does mean well sometimes you’re still left with comments that can only really be answered with ‘you don’t do much reading, do you?’ anyway, which may not be their fault and is probably a product of their age but still leaves you armed to the teeth in a battle against somebody who won’t be earning their spurs any time soon.

Mh, I guess you are right, the anonymous darts rarely hit the spot. It might be interesting to see how much of your opinions might sound fanatic - while they actually aren't at all - or poorly translate in your internet persona, from an external POV, but I tend to be a quiet - yes, sometimes overexcited and polemic, but still- kid for the majority of time, without any notable excess.
And my friends, I don't really want them to use an anonymous meme to bring on any problem they might have with me. As for hugs and backpats, they can give me everyday.

The anonymous writer feedback meme you took, on the other hand, seemed a little more interesting, as it gives a specific focus. It's useless for me to have that since my english writing is so small, but I'll think about exporting it to the italian fandom, even though, the average drama in here is so high by default I'm not sure I really want to start any more of it.... ° °;;

Even within the realm of fanfic there’s still such a wide range of things that can be said that what I ended up with revealed more about what readers wanted to read rather than anything else. I also got PR-speak thrown at me in one comment which really didn’t help my mood in responding to comments, though it did at least let me formulate a specific rule that runs to the tune of ‘if somebody name-drops Proust without talking about his writing/life/relating it to anything else they’ve actually said then they’re an idiot’.

I was going to ask if the Italian fandom was really that bad but then realised that of course every fandom grouping has it’s fair share of loud, dramatic idiots so I suppose I should really ask about the flavours of drama on the Italian side of things instead. After all, the English speaking Trinity Blood fandom has people who can’t seem to use Google, the Russian fandom are more organised and just better at gathering all the data, the Pilipino fandom has a tendency towards deranged Isaak fangirls and so on.

Mh, I remember that... it was actually quite a gratuitous comment.

Italian fandom is not bad at all, but when it comes to fanfiction rings/sites/communities, the population is just as relatively small as it's supposed to be for such a poorly spread language, therefore, it's like living in a village rather then in a big city, and likewise village there is gossip, factions, old-time rivalries and so on. It's a well-know feature of our country to be a very polemic nation ^ ^;
So, I think that such a meme would only be used by the same not-so-anon little bunch of people to start some sort of lameassed crusade, as they try to do twice a month at least.
- but the majority of people are nice, pacific, and civil.

Due to this fairly small number of fangirls/boys in the nation as a whole, the specific fandoms hardly get to have a relevant history of BNF, wanks and such, with the possible exception of Harry Potter's fandom in its golden age.
