Wow, that was very detailed. And thoughtful. I don't think I've ever read so much thought put into understanding a song before.

So, is the bottom line that you think the song is pretentious? Too self absorbed?

I don't think there has to be a bottom line like that, or that I should be the one to decide it and make a blanket statement. I understand the story they're trying to tell (or at least my interpretation of it) and I enjoy it. If another listener is interested in the same story, that's fine; if yet another thinks it's pretentious, that's fine, as well. In an interview, Wentz said that he wrote most of the songs of the album based on the POV of his friends, not himself - if his is how he understands and portrays that, it's fine with me.
