i am going to write because i'm super nervous. and maybe i can turn the knot in my stomach into words and make it go away while i wait.
subject.......life at the farm? sure.
even though i say i grew up in Aitkin, MN, it was really IN Aitkin. My house was about 10-15 miles out of town depending on which way you took to get there. i think its 11 acres of property ranging from lake shore, to fields, to roadside. the house is a small, one story building. i'd say the best way to describe it is quaint, its very quaint. nothing elaborate about that place. it doesn't even have a basement. there is a crawlspace about 3 and a half feet tall that we always kept veggies in. and the crawl space would flood every year. i remember having to go down there and wade around and put a pump down there to get all the water out. haha, the best thing about that crawl space, is that the opening to it is barely big enough for a person. its like a 3 foot wide, but probably less that 2 feet tall little horizontal slit thats right on ground level. so you would have to get on your stomach and slide in feet first to go down there. ha, when i was little i was always scared about doing down there, ESPECIALLY havign to go down feet first. something could have grabbed me! you know this. isn't that a common worry for young children, that THINGS are just going to be grabbing them when they leave expect it. anyway, there's more to the farm than that, but i gotta go now.
