In my culture Christmas is the most important time of the year when all people come together to celebrate peace and love in their hearts. It is a very special time of reunion when we think about all the people that mean something to us, about our family, closed friends and loved ones but also about those whose friendships haven't always been that perfect for us and finally also about people we often may not even know but still want them to feel special. This tradition of trying to see our lives and others from different perspective at least for the few days of the year has been teaching us for centuries that the simple act of love, forgiveness and giving can often mean for us humans much more than to receive.
This is a time of giving because we want to give and not because we expect something
