Goodreads:
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions-can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
A must read for any sports (manga), slash fanfiction and m/m fan. Includes all the best elements of the best alternating POV fics I remember reading. And both characters are quite lovable. It is fun to change from one head to the other from beginning to end and learn what once happened as their friendship resumes and their relationship moves on. It is so carefree, with such little drama and so many feel-good moments that it makes for a great, light read and re-read.
It has a sequel (
Us), but I haven't read it yet. I love this book so much I fear what one reader described so well: "I must admit that I am not the biggest fan of when authors extend the story about the same characters beyond one book. The subsequent book (or books) usually end up having a lot of unnecessary drama." And the sequel's summary gives me all the wrong vibes. Maybe one day I'll give it a chance. For now, I'd rather read Him over and over again.
Him es uno de los libros m/m que no me canso de leer y recordar. Ligero, agradable y tierno. Ideal para fans de los mangas de deportes adictas al yaoi y m/m, como yo. :D
