Beautiful Men

It is such a pity that Chris Chambers didn't get old both in the story and in real life.
King writes about his tender, luminous smile and he provides in every key scene.

I have recently finished The Body (Cuenta conmigo) and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption (Cadena Perpetua). I didn't know both belonged to the same collection of novellas, Different Seasons (1982). Shawshank is mentioned a couple of times in The Body.

I have noticed there is a different number of deaths in both books and movie adaptations. Nobody commits suicide or is killed in Shawshank, and both Teddy and Vern die young and crazy in The Body.

Once again I see that Stephen King has written amazing male friendships, bording queerness sometimes, as he himself describes, but deeply touching and unforgettable. I wonder whether he had one of those himself, or wished hard for it. On Writing, his memoir, focuses more on his wife and family, BUT.

Regarding male friendship and beautiful men, there is another 80's icon that I keep loving like the first day. Actually, nowadays no one dares dress as simple as this on TV and be so happy, do they? There's mostly suits and Sunday dresses and layers of heavy make-up. Unless they are quite lost in a not-so-desert-island or breaking bad.
