[BOOKS] Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger

From Amazon:

Through letters, notes, report cards, matchbook covers, and telegrams, a novel set in the 1940s follows the sometimes underhanded efforts of Joey Margolis, a fatherless twelve year old, to persuade New York Giants third baseman Charlie Banks to be his role model.

This book has made my week, in spite of the headaches due to the lack of sleep. I couldn't put it down, I was laughing in bed way past midnight. The brat is an endearing bastard, and the style is completely addictive. Humorous even at the onset of WWII with all its consequences. I recommend it to you all for an awesome reading time.

Thanks to mahoshi for discovering this author for me. I am currently hooked to Almost Like Being in Love, which is more of the same, only gay-themed in the Percy-Oliver fashion: the jock and the nerd. I'm lovin' it.

Me ha encantado este libro. Me he reído muchísimo.
