letter to rick on the death of his grandmother

Dear Rick,

Thank you for letting me know, I do appreciate it. It seems like just yesterday we were playing in the lot on the slip-in-slide, hooking up the hose to the deep well in the potatoe cellar. Afterward we would have cold chicken and salt & vinegar potatoe chips at your grandma's. Agnes was always a warm sweet lady, and I think that rubbed off on at least you and Darin. When I think of memories with her in them there was always the good things of life surrounding her. A comfortable home, a kitchen full of good food, the animals she loved, beautiful flowers in a garden, nature and her family. Those are things that make us all feel good and happy and loved and things we should all try to have. She lived a long life saw her children grow, marry have children of their own, who grew and married and had children again. Once again something that is a wonderful thing that you and I most certainly wont see happen in our lifetimes. It is good that you were able to know three of your grandparents as an adult, in so that you could appreciate them like you did. It really is sad to see loved ones go, but if you do the things they loved to do in there memory, then the love they had lives on through you.

It was wierd. Yesterday morning my roomate mike left in hurry to be with his friend, who's mom has terminal cancer. When I came home from work last night I had a feeling of dread, just in the fact that it is my good friend's friend, it is a very sad situation and i had a feeling someone had passed away. I guess my feelings were well founded. I'm sorry Rick. Take care and give my best to everyone.

Your friend, Jason.
