the letter
I’ve been putting this together for over a year now. I got the idea and mentioned it on the internet, and people were SO receptive. They began sending all of these things - notes and videos for you - and then I’ve spent the time organizing it all and editing it together. Some have sent you little material gifts too, and those are all in here as well, along with little cards of explanation. You can tell a lot about a celebrity by who their fans are. And let me just say that you, honestly, have some of the sweetest and funniest fans I have ever seen. I am so fascinated by this -- the fact that a celebrity's fans seem to often mirror them, just in the general way they act and carry themselves. You should be so proud, these people amaze me daily. They are so beautiful, talented, inspiring, helpful, humble and full of life. And those are just the ones *I* know. I wish I could go meet more because given the track record, they'd prove to be just as awesome, supportive and loyal. I see different little reflections of you in each and every one of your fans -- they each have a piece of you. Whether they had it before they knew of you or developed it BECAUSE of you, it is still the coolest thing. And it’s amazing to me how you can help raise and shape people without even knowing who they are, and without even doing it on purpose. What I’m trying to say is just keep existing - you don’t even have to go out of your way to do anything. Just keep existing and the world will be a better place. So this video is just us, your girls, thanking you for that and letting you know we’ll always be behind you.

There’s so much more I love, but I couldn’t say it even if I tried. Words don’t feel like they’re enough to accurately communicate just how much we all look up to you. But we’re trying. And we hope you’re able to understand even a fraction of what you mean to us. Keep working, keep taking on those unique and memorable characters, keep caring about dogs and yoga and the environment, keep being the strong, intelligent, individual woman you are. The other girls and I wish you all the best life has to offer, and hope you’re in the business for many years to come - but only if it’s what you want. Thank you for everything, Lisa E.

I'm buying a box in California - I don't want to have to worry about taking it on the plane with me. I'm just shoving all the presents in my suitcase.
