So, today was a bad day at work and in the last few minutes before I took off, I found a rather snippy note from my youngest sister. The background being thus:
With all that went on in November, I didn't have any use or lose around the holidays, so I didn't take off. On top of that,
g_shadowslayer's mother's doc kept calling at any time from 5:30am - 6:30am, which meant, of course, that sleep was getting broken up, so I spent a lot of time being exhausted.
My father does not keep the phone on at his house because apparently his neck of the woods has a real problem with telemarketers, even if you're on the "no call" list and he doesn't put up with it. So, I can only call at certain times on certain days.
I slept most of Christmas away. I was working, getting broken sleep, etc., so I pretty much missed most of the day, so I missed the very small window of opportunity to call. I figured also, that with my youngest sister there they had better things to do, because they didn't try to call me. Not a single peep.
My father called sometime (while I was at work) before New Years, but he called the home phone (I was at work) and
g_shadowslayer was in the bathroom so she couldn't answer the phone. She called me maybe 2 minutes after he left his message - so, all-in-all maybe 10 minutes had passed when I tried to call him. Well, guess what, he'd turned his phone off.
So, I still didn't think anything of it, until my oldest sister calls me with a "call me now or I call the police". I called her up (and she was 2 seconds from calling the cops) and let her have it. She said my youngest sister had been trying to contact me via email. Emails I never got. No attempt to call me at work. No messages left on my cell.
I let her have it. I told her it wasn't my fucking fault that I hadn't answered messages I never got.
So, yesterday, I go to the account I usually give out to businesses, etc to see if there was something I had to deal with. Low and behold, there are the email messages (all fucking 2 of them. She has never contacted me on that address except when it originally was my only address. She's been writing to me for a number of years now to the right one, yet, all of a sudden, it's the only email addy she has?! So, I told her that this was the reason why she hadn't gotten through to me.
Well, today was not a good day. I was very close to having a screaming match in the middle of the cube farm, because I got rather tee'd off at repeated stupid mistakes by co-workers and an extreme lack of cooperation going on. So, getting this rather shirty response from my sister just pissed me off. I didn't quite let her have it like I did my oldest sister, but who knows if I'll hear from her again. She's probably going to be pissed at me, but I can't really care right now.
I know common sense says I should have waited to make a response, but I'm not the bad guy here (at least not completely) and I don't appreciate being seen as one.
