[A man sits on the edge of the pond looking at the device as it turns on. A heavy German accent cuts across.]
This is nice, ja. Very nice indeed. I wunder how these are made.
[A few short click and beeps as settings are adjusted. This must be a part of ze world I haven't been to. It is so very friendly. Though, I can't seem to find ze name of it

Have you been given an explanation of this place?

[No barrier blastia, but not all places needed them.]
But do tell me the details. What is there to know?

You're not actually in your world any more. This place, the City, is fenced in somehow--I haven't gone all the way to the outskirts to check out how yet. Anyway, how you got here isn't something I know the answer to, and how you can leave... No one knows a sure way out, but people have left, some of them report seeing doors so it's presumed they go back home.
I don't know what your world is like, but the City here is fairly normal--more technologically advanced then some, less than others. You have to find employment of course, and a place to live.
Speaking of which if you're hungry, first meal's on me. And if you can cook than I might have a job for you--of course, if you just advertise your skills or ask around, someone will hire you.
Where was I? Right. This place isn't so bad, it's kind of unusual, got it's mix of people, but the main thing to look out for is curse days. The curses ( ... )

[Then the documents. Yeager isn't going to comment on how he thinks the other may be living in fantasy land. Because, really, who makes a guide to fantasy land like a observer's journal? Even if it wasn't his notes ... regardless. Grain of salt. He's taking it, but he doesn't dismiss the notion entirely.
Oh, and Deities. Cheerful.]

Zat is very surprising. Very surprising indeed. Enough to make one's head spin, ja. I will take you up on that offer for more questions, but at a later time, you see. Wouldn't want you to repeat anything zat was already written down. Vell, and I have to form zem, too.
But if you do have ze time to spare, better than learning of the city itself why don't you tell me a little of your experience here, hm? Sometimes what one's eyes see can describe a place far better than any hard facts. And I can cook you something very nice, ja. Nothing quite as fancy as for your restaurant I believe you said, but my options are, vell, limited.

If you're any good and you're interested, you could cook for the restaurant. Doesn't have to be permanent, but we're kind of short staffed in the kitchen.

The rest of the time it's about what you'd expect. There are people from all kinds of worlds with all kinds of stories and personalities and expectations. For the most part it functions, and there are police to help keep citizens safe, but the place can be dangerous even on good days.
The spaces outside the city can have monsters, and though I haven't checked it out myself, I'm told the Underground is pretty dangerous.
How this place functions, and why is still pretty much up to speculation. A normal routine is pretty impossible for more than a couple days without interruption.

[There is a nod and perhaps a bit of a shrug.] How can I refuse such an offer? Every man has to start somewhere, ja, with ze world turned all topsy turvy.
Oh no no no. I understand some need to keep somethings tucked away in ze closet. As you said curses, no? Ze might be best swept under ze rug, ja. Though, I wunder how zat all works. Different people. Different faces. It might resemble a circus without out knowing what is up or down. Heh. But it does work, zat is, with a little help from a watchful eye of authority. Ja, I bet it does.
Vell, then, your assistance is much appreciated and since my calendar was so graciously freed for me, the nights will seem long until I find myself a routine even if somewhat interrupted.
And when did you arrive, milord? [For if he is going to work for him, he might as well be polite.] And how old is ze memories of zis place?
Reply
It does resemble a circus a lot, now that you mention it.
[He blinks, taken aback and clearly awkward at being called lord.] Haha, please just call me Guy. I've only been here a few weeks, myself. But some people have been here for years.
That's another thing, sometimes people go and return, sometimes they don't remember it. So if you were ever here before, someone might know.

Terribly sorry, but I had guessed it was you zat ran ze place. Or am I mistaken yet ---
[And there is goes with the odd things again.]
... I think I have my first question, ja.

Haha, nah. Luke's the owner. [Guy just goes and hires people. And he has noted Rita and Yuri's reaction to this guy, sounds like they know him, though perhaps not all that close? Maybe he'll ask later.]
If you were here before I wouldn't know. But Euphemia or Yuri might.

You have been very helpful indeed. Be seeing you then.
