I just recently binge watched all four seasons of Lucifer. I told myself that I would not get caught up in the character or the ship but I failed. I threw my (broken) heart into this video, which delves into the memories of Chloe that haunt Lucifer at the end of season 3 every time he sits at the piano to play Creep.
The piano clip at the beginning of Season 4 haunted me and I didn't think it was going to stop. I tried to give the vid idea to
raspberry_splat because IMO she's better at the slow fades and the emotional overlays but she doesn't watch the show. And then the song just wouldn't leave me alone, so I gave in to my "desires". I tried to feel Lucifer's emotions throughout and chose just the right scenes to reflect that.
Speaking of the emotions that Lucifer shows throughout the song, I see him at the beginning more reminiscent of the memories he's experienced with Chloe. Nearing the end of the song, his emotions are way more desperate. Just look at his eyes as he's reliving her running away and wondering how she must feel about him now that she's seen him. He sees himself as a monster and yet she's so precious to him. Tom was marvelous baring Lucifer's soul as he did there.
My favorite part of the vid is at :27. There's an overlay of a kiss that fades away and Lucifer sighs, visibly shaken from the memory. Then there's clapping (which come from the episode) and basically that's #Deckerstar fans applauding the beautiful Lucifer/Chloe emotional scene, with so much thanks to the Lucifer writers.
A favorite that I could not figure out if I should keep in or take out is the audio over the ending credits. Has he played the song too much? Should I leave it there or cut it? Chloe was gone a month and Lucifer was heartbroken so he played the song constantly, as shown by the many, many cuts in the original video and changing clothing that he wears. Ultimately I left it because it just felt right. Not only did he play it and nurse his broken heart, I played it so much while editing that that line was a part of my heartbreak as well.
The hardest of the vid to edit were after 1:20 which illustrate Chloe walking out on Lucifer or giving up on him. There just aren't that many clips of that happening that give us a punch to the gut and visually illustrate that loss. Ultimately I got it to work, and I'm glad that I didn't focus primarily on the ending scenes of season 3.
I thought by finishing this my heart would be sort of healed. The song still haunts me. What do I do now?
