Everything is awesome. I'm back at Hogwarts. Robin and Schmidt have visited. I miss everything.
ATL is huge and supportive and awesome and will hopefully be magical.
Kentuckians are fun. Here's two encounters
1.
Me- Hey I bet you'd know this, is the tap water here safe to drink?
Cleaning Woman who was setting up my appartment while I was moving in (after a long blank stare)- Well hell kid, it ain't killed me yet and I been drinkin it five years.
I later found out it's city water and is safe to drink.
2.
I met this 53 year old with a cane named Rich, who thought that my name was Richard because he got confused when I repeated his name after he said "Rich", to make sure I heard him right. I asked him if I was walking in the right direction to get to the grocery store. He struck up conversation with me (which is cool) and I told him I was from New York and was working for Actors Theatre. It transpired that Rich didn't specifically know what theatre was. I don't say this in any high handed way, he actually seemed not to understand the concept. I had to explain that I wasn't going to be on American Idol and that I wasn't making movies at the theatre, I was doing plays. I think he actually said "I've never met a movie star before" at one point, referring to me. Then he told me about his dad, who apparently worked as a doctor, then a guitarist, then a boxer when he was young, before entering the army.
