Has anyone ever heard of the Dvorak simplified typing system? For
those of you who have, I think I'm going to try to learn it. It
apparently increases typing speed, reduces injury and makes touch
typing overall easier. I've been trying to take notes using it in
class, while having another window opened in Qwerty just in case I
need to ramp up my typing speed. It's been only a couple of days, so
there's not noticeable results to speak of. For those of you who have
no idea what I'm talking about, here's a comic all about it:
http://dvzine.org/zine/index.html I think those of you with carpel
tunnel should really give it a shot. The only problem is that it takes
a long time to learn and retrain yourself.
In other news, I'm aok. I've been taking aikido classes outside
seminary grounds. Being in an actual dojo with multiple students
learning a martial art I'm not already a black belt in is a little
awkward. But, they tell me I'm doing really well for my rank. (After
some adjustments) Also, I've been reading a book called World War
Z which is all about the oral history of a Zombie war. It's
strangely engaging and I'll probably have to write a review of it when
I'm done. So far, it's more about how crappy people are to each other
in national catastrophes and how people can ignore a problem before
it's too later. My seminary is going as a group to see the Pope in
April. Woot! It's not that big of a deal for me since I just saw him
during my time in Rome. (Which now that I think of it, I haven't
written a post on!) And unfortunately, we have to drive up to New York
twice (from Philly) because it's cheaper for the seminary. Still, it
should be pretty awesome. Also, another seminary and I were able to
converse with an old man in Spanish for over ten minutes. I think
those Pimsleur lessons are really starting to show their effect. So,
overall things are working out this semester. I just need to find time
to do a paper before it crushes me. Also, I think I'm going to be
rather objective this presidential campaign season because in all
honesty I don't like anyone who's running. (And I'm the type of guy
who even likes Bush!) Also, I like Linux OS a lot, but my headphone
mysteriously stopped working again. And I have no idea how to fix it.
*sighs*
God Bless
