Ah. Finally reached one of, if not the most crucial moments in this story :) I hope I've done it justice.

Heh, not quite the kind of emosplosion you were expecting, eh? ;) But that wouldn't have worked for Alessar, I think. Some kind of conflict was kind of inevitable (hah ;), though. Game-wise, Zevran will kind of come to terms with his feelings even if you don't refuse the earring, but if you make him think harder about it like this, you get him to admit some other things. ;)

It wasn't really intentional, but the thing with the door is a pretty good contrast of their attitudes on trust, yes. ;)

Heh, I think fanfic is certainly an art -- regardless of the topic you're writing about, (to me at least) the artistry is in shaping the words, and in the scenes and situations the writer creates, so if the characters happen to belong to someone else.. eh. ;) That adds an extra layer of difficulty in some ways: staying in bounds, for the universe and for the characters. And getting back to the story, for whatever reason, Zevran's boundaries are a comfortable space for me to work in, so... yay? XD;

I've got a few other bits and pieces I need to start/finish, and I need to replay some of the game before I get into the next chapter of this. XD; it may be a while. ;D Hmm.. I really don't think Alessar would do something like that ^_^; (Can you imagine how Zev would freak out if the earring went missing? o_o) But we'll see if he has any surprises in stores for Zev. ;P
