sticky post!

As of 3 March 2017 -- 13 years to the day on LJ! and I definitely appear to be one of the last remaining -- I've done a MAJOR friends list purge. Anyone with a journal long-inactive that I don't interact with regularly on here pretty much hit the chopping block. If you'd like to be added back, though, feel free to pop into the comments!

I first wrote up a sticky post for this place years ago now, I think, and things around LJ have changed a lot since then, so I figured it was high time to (a) seriously slim the old thing down, and (b) update it a bit, too.

LJ these days is a pretty quiet place, and frankly, the way I use it now has changed significantly over the past few years. I used to be a lot more involved in various communal activities, and didn't really give a second thought to the accessibility of my blog; whoever wanted to stop by and have a look could go ahead and do so. But these days, fannish activity is all but dead on this site, at least as far as what I get up to here (that's what Tumblr is for now, isn't it?), and all I ever really post anymore are entries of a personal nature. Stuff about work, my life in L.A., my friends, who I'm spending my time with, how things are developing, etc. Things that need to get out of my head as a form of therapy, almost. And stuff like that is stuff I'm not going to be so lackadaisical about as I used to be.

So, as of now, everything here is friends only. If you want access to an old story or geeky post (like, say, that time several years ago when I went on an epic, screencap-aided rant about how "shooting everything in the dark ≠ noir, Veronica Mars), comment here and let me know, and I'd be happy to open it up for you. If you want to add me, you're going to have to let me know who you are. If we don't already know each other, the chances of my adding you are pretty slim, so if we do know each other from another platform (Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook), let me know! If not, sorry, but no dice. This place, these days, is primarily for me. (Trust me, you're not missing much.)
