FIC: Waiting for the Miracle

Nov 16, 2007 02:51

I promised this fic, to those of you who care, weeks ago.  It's been finished for about as long.  I wrote it before the show's first season came to a close, and I knew -- from what I had read of what was to come -- it wouldn't contradict upcoming canon, as best I could predict, and should fit rather nicely between episodes 1x09 and 1x10.  Looking ( Read more... )

It`s always the same. The dumb ones are full of self-confidence, whereas the good ones, the brillant ones are always full of doubts.

I`ve been looking forward this fic since you`ve mentioned it the first time and what can I say? I love it. The characters are reflected perfectly, which shows me that you have an incredible amount of psychological sensibility and -which is probably the most difficult thing- the ability to express these perceptions with such beautiful words.
I`m deeply touched, especially by the ending.

He tucks his heart carefully back inside his jacket pocket; the movement concealed as he pulls out another cigarette and his lighter too, just to fill his empty hands. In the periphery of his tired eyes, he sees the little star of Becca's hand wink back into the darkness of her room. Her fingerprints twinkle at him like some secret constellation, even across all this distance, from the way the moonlight strikes the paneled glass.

Amazing. The relationship between Hank and Becca is one oft the most beautiful ones ever, I can`t express how much I love it. She is the real light of his heart, she is what keeps him going
I would love to read more fanfiction focusing on the two of them.

Anyway. If you want to believe it or not. You are a writer.

Totally off-topic but I`ve just stumpled across this and thought I`d share. Maybe you`ve already seen it.
It`s David being interviewed by an employee of Harald Schmidt (similar to Letterman or Jerry springer or whoever).
It`s just too funny when he`s trying to read German rhymes *lol*

Heh, that's certainly a nice thought! I would never use the word "brilliant" to describe myself, OR my writing talents though, lol. I appreciate the gesture, though.

Agreed! I adore their relationship, all the screwups and the good parts. And I'd certainly love to see more fic focusing on them, but that would involve other people actually writing fic for the show, lol! Something tells me we're not going to have the luxury of being picky, which is sad. It happens, though, and bigger fandoms with lots of contributing writers tend to spoil us.

Thank you so much for such a sweet and insightful review. It means a lot to me that those as enthusiastic about the show as I am are liking this. :)

OT: Haha, I can only imagine David attempting German pronunciation! He does very well with French, but he studied that, and German is hard for just about everyone who isn't raised speaking it. Thanks very much for the link you gave me! I'm sure this will be fun to watch.
