I wish I had a digital camera in good working order...

SO I COULD HAVE TAKEN PICTURES OF MY WINTERLICIOUS MEAL!

One of my life's goals is to be an active food blogger, but unfortunately my digital camera has been on the fritz for... oh, about a year now. And I am too lazy to have it repaired.

Anyhow, dinner.

I chose Boho as my Winterlicious restuarant party because of the goat cheese appetizer and partly because it is close to my neighbourhood, on Roncesvalles. The space is cute; warm orange walls, an open kitchen, simple prints displayed on the walls. Very laid back, very casual, and very, very delicious.

Of course I started off with the goat cheese appetizer--herbed cheese wrapped in a phyllo pastry with cumberland sauce (i.e. cranberry jam) and baby greens. It was definitely more phyllo then goat cheese, but I wasn't about to complain about that. Give me crispy sheets of phyllo on its own and I will be a happy, happy girl. The left over cumberland sauce was also fantastic spread over butter on bread.

For my main I chose roasted chicken breast stuffed with bacon and mushrooms in cauliflower sauce with yukon gold potato fries. The chicken was fantastic, but seriously--best fries I have ever had in my life. Even better then the french fries and mayonnaise I had from a little booth on the Seine when I was in Paris (they were listed as best ff prior to this evening). After I placed my order I had second thoughts ont he cauliflower sauce, but it made for a really tasty gravy that was even great with the fries.

And the came desert. My my espresso I had sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce. I need not elaborate.

Winterlicious is the greatest idea ever and I am happy that I will be taking advantage at least one more time throughout the Winter City festival. There are lots of exciting things coming up and my calendar is booked solid from here on in to March. I prefer to be busy, so I am just about happy as a clam. And as if tonight could have gotten any better... LUDACRIS is hosting SNL.
