school has started!
so far my classes are pretty good here's a breif explanation, if you don't give a shit (which i don't blame you) you can just skip to the next paragraph!
phy 231 (physics): eh, ya know it's physics... definitely not the same without raina! but there's a good 200ish people in it. good think my roommate, ali is in that class with me! we have fun trying to understand what our prof is saying. his accent isn't so bad... it's just he's so unorganized and doesn't know what he's going to say next... ha! kind of like how i write!
iah 207 (humor throughout history and affects on humans and shit): it's going to be a fun class. prof watts is hilarious! might be my favorite prof thus far! again, ali's in this class with me so we have a good time. although today got boring toward the end.. :(
geo 203 (meterology): Yay! my favie earth science subject, how can i not like this class?!? the prof is really crazy! she's very hyper and very excited about weather...which is cool! i've heard her exams are a bitch though, so i'll have to study hard. it's nice i have a pretty good background in the subject though!
te 348 (children's liturature): VERY fun class! we read books like where the wild things are and the giver. and also my particular instructor is interested in incorporating diversity and acceptance into children's lit. making sure that books you have in your classroom won't make anyone feel excluded and whatnot. it'll be fun. it's only one day a week (for three hours, though..:s) and the first day we speant the first half hours coloring pictures about ourselves then introducing oursleves! t'was fun!
te 250 (how social inequality affects schools and vice versa): pretty good class, i mean the topic is very interesting to me and i'm excited to learn everything. however, the instructor is kind of a drab. she speaks in monotone and says "um" all the time. frustrating! but there's a service learning project that goes along with the class where we have to spend 2 hours a week with a student that has a different background than us. and our entire section is tutoring at the refugee center in lansing. i'm really excited about this, i think it'll be an extremely eye opening experience for me!
that's it! should be a good year!
last night tara and i went to the "mrule returner's night" were we all got together and watched a video documenting our aids conference that we put on last year. also we talked about what we're going to do the next year as well as catch up! so good to see everyone!
that's pretty much an update on my life. i hope all is well!!!
