I suppose the question of the day, since I've received an invitation, is: what does one wear to an ex's wedding?

baby blue is not my color, emo girls need love too, gravedigger's union

I got an invitation, too. It's weird. I was also at Dot's yesterday, and saw the same envelope in her mailbox, so I think she got an invitation, too. It's gonna be a circus.

Hey, when are you and me gonna have coffee? I miss your incessant prattle. (Even though Claire totally makes up for it. Speaking of, I'm taking the both of you shopping soon, how's that?)

Perhaps the three of us should shop for something that would be appropriate for me to wear. I need something that is not weird, brightly colored, slutty or that I've worn while (pining over/being seduced by/scoring drugs from) the groom.

Do you even own anything fitting those qualifiers, or are we going to have to go shopping before the wedding just so you don't go naked.

(Oh wait, you were probably thoroughly seduced in your birthday suit.)

No. That's the problem. Every stitch of clothing I own has been tainted by his presence, his breath and my hormonal reactions to him. Therefore, I must start fresh and anew.

In short: Fuck you, Hemingway.

XOXOXO, sweetness.

Seriously, though, I'm just worried that no matter WHAT I wear, it'll be wrong somehow. Someone will think it's slutty or that it's so unslutty that it must be a mockery. I can't wear white, I can't wear black or people will think I'm in mourning or something, I can't wear red cuz it's slutty, I can't wear pink because they just had a /girl/ baby and I can't wear blue because they just had a girl and someone might take it as 'Lettie thinks she could have spawned him a MALE child, look at her wearing blue!' and... it's just a mess. And I'm afraid if I don't even GO, people will think even worse of me for THAT. So... must find clothes that are appropriate in style, cut, color and price.

So wear green. Unless you think that people will assume you're going to sue them for their money!

Actually, pink and blue would be appropriate. No one's going to be thinking about you in connection with the baby, Lettiekins. Unless you try to breastfeed or something and that'd be really, really sick. I don't suggest doing that.
