Vegetarianism: Consuming the flesh of animals?

So my roommate John, he's a good guy. He's 42, works the night (overnight) shift a Walgreen's, goes by the motto live and let live. Nice guy. Pissed me off for the first time today

hey, i'm not saying there's anything wrong with being a vegetarian! i could be one if i tried hard enough, haha.

I know its just, it really is a big deal to me. For example we've found out the sour cream taco bell uses is not vegetarian, its not as big of a deal as say the flesh of an animal itself, but I really could not eat it. I had thought of just ignoring it for that one time (the first time I was confronted with the choice after finding out) and I guess I wanted to. I wanted the cheesy fiesta potatoes, and I COULD NOT do it. Whatever the reason it's important to me, and it's a part of my life. I dislike being told that no, it is in fact ok to eat animal flesh, you're still vegetarian if you do. >.< (ok in the sense of within the realm of vegetarianism, not as in general).

and the next time...ask for no sour cream, haha. i seriously wanted to die when Shanna told me the fries at McDonald's are injected with beef fat. cause...well...i don't eat red meat and pork. but i also don't go around calling myself a vegetarian *shrugs*

my roommates are pretty much vegetarians now. We have group dinners and Dane's boyfriend is a vegetarian. it is nice.
