Dr. Mac reads this well

So, not very versed in poetry-writing. But this is for class and I'd like some critique, pleease (:

We stand in line for coffee,
Silhouetted by the pane glass windows
And the yellow sky outside.
You say, is that one staring?
I want to answer, yes, all of them are,
Hawks’ eyes scrounging for an answer,
Who are we?
Talons bared.

To kiss your face would be to lie down,
Brace for the incision,
Our own blood will spill
On the pristine tiles of patriarchy

You and I deny
What they think of female desire
Deviant
Dangerous
Without Definition

I lose myself in the display of brownies
Warm chocolate
Swirls of frosting
Sprinkles
And forget what we are,
Forget our bodies
Emotion bounces off discarded skin
Like the feel of caffeine
This is who we are.
