Change Love was for the weak and stupid.
Kibum always knew Jinki had a boyfriend, but that never stopped him from seducing Jinki into his bed. Nothing stopped Kibum from getting what he wanted, not even a long-standing relationship. It wasn’t like he didn’t respect couples who were in love, but he reasoned that someone in love didn’t cheat on their significant other. It justified his relationship with Jinki.
Sometimes he felt guilty after they disentangled their limbs and rested on rumpled sheets, a world’s distance between their bodies. It only lasted a moment, though, because he was Kim Kibum, and there was no room for regret in his life.
And then Jinki ruined it all one night with three little words. He hadn’t even realized he’d said it, and had just continued sliding their bodies together smoothly.
And of course Kibum freaked out because this was supposed to be a fling. He didn’t fall in love; love was for the weak and stupid. All love ever did was hurt.
He probably should have realized it. It was all in the way Jinki held him as they rocked together, the way his eyes softened even as he took Kibum roughly, desperately.
Kibum was a coward. Afraid of the consequences of love, he uprooted his life and ran away a week later, leaving only his memory behind.
