So who wants to come?
Okay, So onto the real reason I added my livejournal feed to my facebook - is so that more people see this.
Firstly:
I have a pair of tickets for Tom Mcrae at the Life Cafe in Manchester on Sunday 26th November and no one to come with me. Does anybody want to have the other ticket (face value was about £15.00 inc bookingfee/p&p - so looking for that or thereabouts) and come along? If you're not a Manchester person and interested you may also stay and have usage of the spare bedroom. :)
Secondly:
I need to go to London to do some research for my dissertation during the Christmas holidays at the British and Wellcome Libraries. Trem's not sure he wants to come along, so if someone else is interested that would be cool. Apparently I can get my train costs back and a bit towards living costs and as the books only seem to be available in the aforementioned libraries it seems easier and much more fun than inter-library loans! Obviously I do actually need to do *some* work, but evenings will be free for fun and frollicks - and I don't have to be working all the time. If anyone has dissertation research or similar to do in London anyway it might be a good chance to cut down costs?
Currently I've booked a Travelodge in Kings Cross for 17th and 18th December - it cost me £15 a night for a twin room. I intend to get a train down either on the morning of the 17th, Enjoy London for the afternoon and stay over. Then go to the library all day Monday. Then enjoy an evening doing something - perhaps a gig if there's anything worth seeing or some last minute Christmas shopping then go to the library if I still have lots of work to do on the Tuesday, then get train back in the evening. I haven't yet booked a train ticket as I'm not sure what's happening. Basically I don't really want to be walking around Kings Cross on my own at night so I'd quite like someone to come along - plus it will make the travelodge a bit cheaper! If I get no better offers I'll try and get Trem to come and might go visit my grandparents in Essex on the Saturday night then head into London on Sunday.
I'm also going on 8th January for 1 night as I've got somewhere to stay for the 1 night, but not sure what's happening about that yet either. Might just go down in the morning.. stay over and then come back in the evening on the 9th. Don't know yet. If anyone has any better ideas of what I might be able to do let me know.
Alternatively I could go down on my own - but any London people can come and entertain me and look after me in the evenings.
