It's car inspection time again. Ok, it was inspection time again in April. I really don't have my shit together lately. I attribute this to not having classes so not really having such a need to have my shit together outside of work. I don't know if that's Really Why, but I do know THIS: there is no Really Why. That's what I learned from Learned Optimism... if you think of everything as a multiple choice question, which I do, the best thing to do is realize there is no right answer and just pick the one that is the most happy-making.
They who will be inspecting my car are some really great mechanics I met last year when my car was randomly hit by another vehicle around midnight while it was parked in Oakland. These guys came and saved the day and then, when all the work was done on the car, offered me a free inspection, and are honoring that despite that the whole Car Accident I Wasn't In was almost a year ago. Amazing! AND they gave me a ride to work in one of their big awesome trucks.
Inside the truck, the radio was playing some variation of Fox "News". I've had minimal exposure to such things, and WOW, I can see why people say the things they say about it. They were talking about Obama being a total failure as a president (??!??!) and they had some name for people who believe in global warming, which I can't remember now. There was also a police scanner reporting criminal and misdemeanor tidbits continuously, and the traffic was horrendous because a truck that was too tall tried to drive under a bridge that was too low - that was something to see.
Like, wow: My Day Is Not That Bad.
That and it's a Title Case kind of day. I don't know why.
Edit:
A small pile of small repairs are needed. Why must cars continuously cost money?
:(
But still, at least I didn't drive a huge truck into a bridge.
