I hope she died chained to that godamn fence. What a useless twat of a character. Uh. I might have Justine issues.

You might. I liked her as a villain. Actually, I like the Justine-construct in my head. Just like I like the AtS S3-construct in my head. The one that doesn't involve Angel being a dork and Cordy acting out of character and stuff.

He invests. Which is a fancy way of saying he steals.

Before or after the curse? And does he use a bank, or just stick it under the mattress? And whom, exactly, does he steal from?

Come on. Xander crushed Angel sooo hard. He totally followed him home one day. And Angel called him on it. And from then on, Xander hated him. It totally works in canon and everything!

This answers every question about Xander I ever had.

I think so. I wrote it into Losing My Religion.

That's one out of the three reasons I ask (the other two reasons are two other fics in which Wes has fish). Btw, Losing My Religion is one of the best fics I've ever read.

I'm still trying to figure if vampires pee.And if ( ... )

-The actress who played Justine annoyed me, so maybe that's a part of it, but I also hated the whole "uber-anti-Slayer/Watcher" vibe between her and Holtz. Also, Holtz. Also, Angel being a fucktard and Cordy being a Saint. AtS S3 overall makes me want to cry tears of blood. S4 (and the boit of possible retcon by Skip) made up for most of it, but lingering issues remain. I may need therapy.

-I think Losing My Religion suffered terribly by my whacky fondness for italics. A year or so after I wrote it, I took out most of them. The fic worked- better, actually. I like the *idea* of Losing My Religion better than the actual execution. Much like AtS S3!

-No bucket, no escape.

-I thought both Holtz and Justine brought interesting themes into play--the kind of themes that make me love both AtS and Angel himself. But yeah. The Good Version Of S3 lives only in my head, along with the Right Version Of Phantom Of The Opera and the Film Of Jane Eyre Starring Alan Rickman.

-A lot of people use italics and punctuations as short cuts and cheap tricks, and I almost always view them as such, even in published experimental fiction. To be perfectly honest with you, it took me a while before I began to read your stuff--despite all the good things I'd heard about your fic--because the first thing I started to read by you seemed to use some of those techniques. But however many italics you took out of Losing My Religion, what you left in did a lot to change my thinking about the nature of text in prose. The style you used made some things possible that I don't think would've been possible otherwise, and that I don't think I've seen in many other places. Reading it wasn't just wonderful and heartbreaking; it was a ( ... )

-You're not wrong about the italics, parentheses, etc. I used a lot of that style stuff before I worked harder on substance. My fic definitely suffered for that. I actually posted about this- and LMR specifically, a while back when LJ was talking about writing styles. How since my writing has improved, I've relied a lot less on shortcuts. Which in itself has *also* made my writing better ( ... )

I only read LMR a month or so ago, so it was sanatized. It still used more tricks than I usually appreciate, but that was the reason it blew me away, because they didn't feel like shortcuts or laziness when you used them.

Yes. Yes he does, particularly after I killed him.

Wha . . . ?
