Another fic type thing, with spoilers

I did another Harry Potter fic. I don't even know what it is. I just have all these thoughts, and they come out, and they rhyme! Jossverse, I still love you, even if HP is so shiny and new right now.

Meta-y, gen, short, with SPOILERS. It's about the color of Harry's eyes, the killing curse, Neville Longbottom's thumb...

Ouch. Beautiful, as always, my dear! I love Ginny the most, I think. I never thought about what happened to her in CoS as the violation that you described, but its so apt.

They think she is a virgin still, and forget she’s had Voldemort inside her.

When Hogwarts is penetrated by defilers she fights with the fury of a cuckolded king.

The parallel that you've drawn between Ginny and Bellatrix is absolutely chilling! I love it. The idea that Ginny can't kill Bellatrix because she is, in a way, Ginny's twin is awesome and opens up a world of fic-ish possibilities.

I also quite adored Neville. I read it as a reference, initially, to his parents and the way that you've acknowledged the role reversal, Neville as nurturer (parent) to his parents (having been essentially reduced to children) is poignant and sad.

They do not grow. They are atrophied; they shrink. He wishes to be petrified, cannot bear to grow while they remain children. He might at least sustain them, in these lives they do not live; his fossil self would fertilize their soil. They could all live underground.

Lovely, absolutely lovely

Thanks so much! I like Ginny's the best, too. After I finished them all I decided about cutting them and only posting Ginny's, because I felt like the rest kinda pale in comparison. Oh, well. I like to look at what happened to her in CoS as something that colors her whole life. Realistically, it would, but in the series it gets glossed over, but then so does a lot of stuff that would realistically be psychologically damaging, such as the child abuse Harry suffers. What surprises me is that in fanfic Ginny's trauma seems to mostly get glossed, too, whereas other realities (again, like Harry's child abuse) often get the realistic kind of attention they deserve.

The idea that Ginny can't kill Bellatrix because she is, in a way, Ginny's twin is awesome and opens up a world of fic-ish possibilities.

I always loved Ginny, and really disliked her lack of a part in book 7. This is my fanwank and I'm stickin' to it. Now that you mention it, I want to write more fic about this, and the parallels to Bella. And Harry trying to help her, and feeling like his war with Voldemort is still not over, and...it could be really cool.

Glad you liked the Neville one, too. I wasn't sure it worked, but it was fun to play with.
