Does the Dance of Joy! Happy days to see a follow up on this pretty amazing, bleak place, the mall.

My heart goes out to Angel. Connor once again hates him and doesn't like him for no apparent reason. And that you have Laurence Reilly coming to Angel and thanking him for looking out for them is wonderful.

“Connor Reilly,” Angel said, death in his voice, “is not my boy.”

How hard was that for Angel to say? I love it, you have me all churned up inside when I read it.

The by-play between Spike and Angel at the beginning was fabulous. This is the Spike I like, the one who nit-picks at Angel but knows that Angel is right and supports him when he needs it.

“Sure,” Spike purred, shifting his weight off the door. “Sure, I do what Angel tells me.”

Angel tried not to look quite as surprised as he felt.

“Angel tells me to shit lilies,” Spike went on, walking toward them, “I shit lilies. Angel tells me to call him Daddy, I call him Daddy.”

Of course the *cough* mild bit of violence didn't hurt either! :~))

I'm glad you liked that. Having Angel dealing with Connor's family is interesting--I think he would feel on the defensive, and yet some part of him would want them to like him, the way he wants Connor to. I think it would surprise him that Connor's "dad" is willing to give him such a chance.
